Daragh Heitzman obtained both his college and medical degrees at Texas Tech University. He trained in neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, followed by a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Neuromuscular Disease and Electrophysiologic Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds numerous academic appointments related to both teaching and research and was named an honorary alumnus from Texas Tech University. He has been actively involved in both basic and clinical science research, primarily in the area of ALS, for more than two decades. He is the founder and director to the ALS MDA Care Center at Texas Neurology in Dallas and serves on the MDA Clinical Advisory Board.
